Knee Rods promote extension of the knee ligaments and alignment of the patella and leg bones.”

BKS Iyengar developed these props specifically for the knees (they can also be used for the elbows and other body parts as well) as a way of improving knee alignment to heal the knees and their attendant problems.

Knee rods can also be used on the outside of the knees in straight legged poses, held in place with knee straps.
